I was gaming an HB 9 today. We were talking for about 30 minutes or so. She was really opening up to me, and was giving some very strong IOI.

my plan was, to leave her with the "finger closeness gambit" (or whatver it's called, you know the one on the pick up artist) and i was going to immediately after invite her up to my apt.

when I did it, she inturupts during right when I seperate her fingers with "I've seen this before, they come back together...."

I was floored that she had seen it before, and I figured that she must have seen it on the show, and knew what was going on. So i stopped it, told her she was no fun, and I said "have great night" as i rolled off, and left. She kept talking as I was leaving, but i figured the best thing to do was to play it safe and make her doubt that I was in fact trying to pick her up.

I ended up leaving as she shouted at me out the door "have a great night Andrew"

I now realize that she might have (and most likely) have seen this before from some other guy trying to pull it on her, and she didn't necessarily KNOW what i was doing.

my question is....did i blow it by leaving while the attraction was so high. i won't see her for a week at least, and I want to be able to continue gaming her (i wanted to ask her where she'd seen it, but for fear of the answer being 'the pickup artist', i didn't )

in the case that she did see it there, how can you recover from this?

All I can say is to be prepared for anything, especially if you're using a common routine. A good idea would be to have a backup routine, something where you can say "Oh really? Well has anyone ever show you this..." and then you immediately go into another kino routine. If she has seen both routines just say something like "Well since you're the expert, why don't you show me something?" You could end up learning something new to use as a routine.

haha no im not really familiar with the show, im not really sure what that routine is, but i think you did fine until you decided to leave. I would have done the same, "fine your no fun", and she would have groaned for you to do it anyway, resist once, she try again, and then finish. oh man you coulda F-closed if you had handled that right. oh well. I would appologize next time you saw her, make up some bull shit reason why you got upset, but make it sympathizable if possible, may not be, but try. and go from there. no worries.

LOL, insted of escalating after receiving strong IOI`s you started some thing you saw on TV? Why? It`s great example of bad calibration. You don`t need opener after you already opened. You don`t need routine after she is already into you. You don`t need DHV after receiving strong IOI`s. You were supposed to kino escalate with her and only if she hesitates, use some more PU material but damn it, try to avoid everything seen on TV, even things which circulate over the PU forums and NL`s.

Final mistake was leaving. She only told you she knows that already, she didnot offend you or anything. You could easily get away with that saying some girl showed that to you earlier that night (DHV) and you find it quite amusing and you wanted to share this with her.

Anyway, now you know better. Practice makes perfection. Don`t give up!

ya marco is absolutely right. once you have begun interaction, its time for comfort build, not a second opener, thats just making your routine longer, and thus, more room for error.

When i get stuck on things to say, i normally just stack in to another routine that I have instead of letting it be silent too long.

yea you should dude give her another chance. you leaving was a DLV believe it or not. You should of use another rountine., were you bored when you was trying the spell rountine? hahah i bet you were. well good luck next time and dont GIVE UP so fast or dont give up at all. If you was getting STRONG IOI you should go on to the next phrase.
