Which is better:Reading a whole bunch of pickup books and following them word by word or just getting a few routines and seeing what works best for you?

Read the books.
Test the info out.
Form your own opinions on your game.
Better to get out there and try, then just sit around and wonder what is out there for you.

What works best for you. Why spend time reading the books when you could be out learning the same stuff you'd learn from reading and getting hands-on experience with it? Don't get me wrong, it's good to read them.. But when it comes down to reading the books vs going out and doin your thing... The latter wins everytime.
