So this is new. I'm out at a dance club after hanging out with some friends. Some girl taps me on the shoulder and says hi. I look confused, and she explains that she's a bartender. I still look confused. She explains she works at X, a bar I've been to exactly twice. I look slightly less confused. She says "you were there a couple weeks ago...?"

It dawns on me: I was there the week before, on a Saturday after having a TON of wine at a friend's house. I bought exactly one round of drinks before we left.

Clearly I made a pretty strong impression on this girl by ordering a single round of drinks. Is there any reason to believe I should follow up? Maybe go up to this bar with some friends tomorrow night or next weekend? If so, which? How would I approach...?

As for tonight, I said oh yeah I think I remember now... only been there a couple times. Nice to see you! I started dancing again, she disappeared (to the bathroom I think) and I went to the bathroom a few minutes later. I didn't go back out to the dance floor again, there were a couple guys trying to dance with her and I was getting tired.

Odd though, I can't imagine a bartender remembering a guy after ordering one round... though I did order an unusual drink.

Right, right. I screwed up pretty bad... then again, I'm posting in the newbie forum rather than the guru forum right?

The important question here is whether or not there's a way to pick up the fumble, and how I'd go about it.

Roll with the punches bro. Make sure the next one you deliver is harder then the next, like you said, she seems impressed by you. Hope it helps - Redkid

Indeed it does. If she is hitting you a lot of the work is done already, just be friendly while putting some sparks into the conversation and escalate.

Seems you made an impression, that is good work! Have fun when meeting her again:)

I wasn't thinking, I was tired and drunk and just killing time until I was good to drive home.

That and I suck at this stuff...

Yeah she was hitting on you. I mean what normal girl remembers all of that about a guy unless she was interested? On the plus side you not remembering her at all was a nice unintended neg. Not remembering her at all was a DHV on your part because most guys would either remember her, or placed in your situation lie about remembering her. Just go about your business as usual. If you happen to go to that bar where she works again, strike up a friendly conversation.

So I popped back into the girl's bar tonight for a few minutes. (Tried to get some people together to play pool or darts, but everyone backed out at the last minute... so I had to go in solo.)

Me: Captain and diet

Her: That's 2.75

Me: Do I know you from somewhere, you look familiar?

Her: Weeell, a couple weeks ago...

Me (Cutting her off): I'm kidding! It'd be pretty bad if I forgot you again, right?

Her: I wasn't sure, I didn't know if you were really drunk or something...

Me: Well, maybe a little. But mostly I was tired, I'd kind of checked out for the night...

So we talk a bit more, and she mentions that it was ironic since she had just met the two guys she was with that night at work and they wanted to go dancing. She makes change, we talk a bit more and then she basically goes back to work and doesn't really pay any more attention to me.

I replied to a couple text messages while I finished my drink, then just took off... the theory being that way I look like I was busy and just popping in for a second instead of going there specifically to see her.

So, I figure the good points are:
She pointed out neither guy was a boyfriend.
She let me know she works Friday early evenings (since that's when the two guys picked her up)
She's clearly more than willing to go hang out with guys she meets at work

The questionable part is that she didn't really pay any attention to me after the initial drink purchase. It wasn't that busy, though there were customers and she did seem to be working the whole time... so not sure if she had no interest, was ignoring me to try and get me to chase after her, or was actually just busy for the 10 minutes I was there.

Thoughts?

I'm figuring pop in within the next couple weeks, but not sure if I should try to get my friends together again or pop in somewhere near shift end and see if she wants to go dancing.
