So there was this other girl, and she had to come up for the same reason. So we didn't really introduce ourselves, but we started talking
Me: So what did you get on the Test?
Her: I got a C-
Me: Man, thats a lot better then me, good job! I got an F, and I like History.
Her: Oh I'm sorry
Me: So whats your major?
Her: Well I think its going to be History.
Me:Oh so were you an Open Option then?
Her: Yeah, I just changed it to history.
Me: So are you a Transfer Student or a Freshman?
Her: I'm a transfer student. I messed up my freshman year in college, and took some time off, so I have a lot of ground to cover
Me: Yeah, well I don't think I am cut out to be an engineering student, i just don't like computer science. I might not come back next semester.
...a bit of a pause...then she introduces herself, and I do the same. Then it turned out to be my turn to talk with the TA, and that was that. What i'm confused about is, has she expressed interest in me? Or is it just conversation?
I really don't know what conversations like these mean? Its really a newbie question, but I felt it should be put here. Please help!!

If you're going to make a statement like that, you NEED to follow it up with something positive about what you CAN do well, or what you want to do and what your plan is if you're dropping that. If you dont, then what you end up looking like is just someone without any sort of plan and its unattractive.
Don't be so bland when you talk. Joke around, make interesting comments, don't just ask her typical question, after typical question. _________________ "The 'Brick Walls' are there to allow you to prove how badly you want something!" ~ Randy Pausch
