Its clear that most females prefer the alpha male for a number of reasons, there is however a minority that still prefer beta. The very fact that some females even prefer beta males is proof that there is more to attraction than just having alpha qualities. There is something common between a popular beta male and an alpha male, they both share this certain something. This commonality is like an x-factor, What is that x-factor?

Alpha Males get Alpha Females
Beta Males get Beta Females

That is basically a rule, and every rule has its exceptions, but I would not bank on being beta, and pulling alpha females

Females definitely do not prefer beta males. They just settle for them and learn to deal with them when there are no alphas around.

Do you honestly think that a girl would prefer a guy who doesn't "get it" and doesn't know how to make her feel emotions and attraction to a guy that would? I don't.

And the thing common between a popular beta and a popular alpha is social proof... usually the only attraction switch a popular beta has going for him.

The O.P. is correct, "sneaky bugger" theory. Look it up.

Alpha males is one aspect of attraction and it comes form a rather over-analytical socially contrived view of attraction.

As much i'd love to believe this but, there is more to attraction than alpha and beta those are just words. Words cannot describe everything.

The 'source' is females. (but lets try not go into the whole 'can one trust female advice' debate).

It seems my post was slightly misunderstood. I am not saying the majority of females prefer beta, but there IS a minority that do. Some of them do not prefer the dominant nature, they prefer the more metro sexual quiet guy that doesnt necessarily lead the pack, whether this is because she subconsciously doesn't believe she is worthy of an alpha male I do not know, my point is, by conscious choice this was the answer from more than one of my female friends. MOST of course would go with alpha. Some girls I have spoken to like skinny shy guys particularly. (not that skinny means beta but you get my drift).

Here's the thing, a guy that 'gets it' and that is able to make her feel emotions is not necessarily alpha. You are assuming that alpha means to be the perfect all round package, the ultimate attraction generating machine. Alpha ultimately resembles nothing more than dominance/leadership. As we know there is a lot more to attraction than being dominant and leading, yes it plays a big part and its what I personally strive for, but there are other factors that come into play.

A beta male (non dominant) with strong conversational skills and one-on-one confidence would outdo any alpha male which may lead the pack, but that possesses absolutely no 'women skills' what so ever. You get them, they do exist...and it is these alphas which would 'lose' against the aforementioned beta. Keep in mind, beta males can have confidence too, which is extremely attractive.

I guess each trait of your nature/personality has a weighting in terms of what it contributes to creating attraction, alpha behavior is only a portion of the overall package.

As a final word I would say strive to be alpha for sure, but realize that you're going to need more than just the alpha status to get anywhere. Observe these 'other' needed traits in alpha as well as beta males in future, because I believe we can learn a lot from both of them.

There are girls that seek out beta guys due to their submissive traits. As the girl themselves are alpha. I know this may seem odd. But in any relationship there is someone who is the dominate or alpha one and the other person being submissive or beta one. Have two people of the same personality type doesn't work that often. Because if no one is dominating or being the leader of the relationship then the relationship will fall thru and that be the end of it.

Wrong mindset guys.

Getting girls because you're alpha is just a small reward.

When you look at a beta male. what does he do?

He needs others to reinforce his reality. When people take that away from he crumbles. He usually goes up to people holding a methaphorical cup half full of water and asks for me. He takes value and is needy.

Now look at an alpha male.

He doesn't need others to reinforce his reality, he knows what he stands for and that is enough. His beliefs are rock solid, he walks through the world with ease. He doesn't take value, he offers it.

The main reason to become an alpha male is purely for yourself, not for others because that would be a beta mindset.

I like your second post a lot better VisionX, much better debate then just saying "some girls prefer beta!"

Anyhow. Girls will not always look for dominance as you put it, but they will almost always be attracted by confidence. That metro sexual skinny guy might not be the leader of the pack and not be a social bug, but I'm sure he's not a pushover and a insecure guy.

I agree with you Javs,

This is a quote from the urban dictionary, as we know this is only ONE view on the matter however it may get you thinking. I believe in modern society it is possible to be beta yet still attractive (not that I would ever want to, my point is that its not ALL about possessing alpha traits. There is more to it than that.)

"In the animal kingdom, the alpha male is the dominant member of the community. He’s like a cartoon caveman, commanding deference. The betas are collaborative and conciliatory. In human terms, betas make the best mates. They do more in the house, and probably in the bedroom, because they know how to hasten the greater good. The beta has poetry in him, and a touch of youthful idealism. He’s sure of who he is, and not constantly trying to prove his value in materialistic terms. (Alpha: Your expensive car doesn’t make you interesting.) The beta can earn a lot of money, or a little, but the money’s not the thing; he profits because he works well with others.

There’s something rebellious about the beta male; he challenges the social order rather than succumbing to it. The beta male doesn’t buy in to the basest stereotypes about male behavior, and that’s hugely sexy"

...as you can see it all depends on how exactly one defines a beta/alpha male. Most of you would probably disagree with the above, because in the PU community.... alpha = awesome, beta = pathetic...end of story.

I don't believe it is that clear cut though. Eg. beta is not necessarily needy, he may be confident and sure of himself and still be a trusting follower to his leader which he sincerely respects. I think the separation between the 2 is rather leadership/dominance rather than needyness, not being confident, value seeking etc.

Then again I guess we could debate all day long with regard to a particular trait being beta, or alpha.

Exactly. This whole conversation relies on people's definition of alpha and beta.

When I hear this I definitely think Alpha Male. Back in caveman days, the caveman was the leader of tribe, which means good ways of communicating this. He works well with others and protects others while still maintaining the "alphaness" that makes him an alpha male... but that's just part of my personal definition of the alpha male.

Personally I think you're version of a beta male is just a little less alpha alpha male. You're version of the beta male can definitely pull tail.
