The usual boring ones are asking people for tools, such as a hammer and shit to secure the tent, followed by, "So where are you from?" People will still open because it’s a festival and they want to socialize, but it's still incredibly generic and every single new conversation with strangers starts with, "So where you from?” 30-60 seconds into the conversation.
Thanks!

Any openers will work, as its basically just another cold approach venue. However, you have the added advantage of being able to ask specific questions about the festival that they either should know, or would be expected to have some information about.
For instance, if I walk up to some random girl in the mall and ask where the Apple store is, she'll just say "I dunno" and go on about her way. But if I ask a girl at a music fest what stage Group X is playing on, she'll either know the answer or more than likely try to tell me something useful if she doesn't know exactly. Then you can be like "Oh, are you planning on watching them?" And then from there a relevant conversation can unfold about music you both like, etc. _________________ “Nothing is impossible, the word itself says 'I'm possible'!” ~Audrey Hepburn
