Hi, I'm Fredrik, and this is my first post!

I live in Sweden, and therefore have to translate all the material supplied. This is good, cause it forces me to understand it all for real, but there are some problems. In some techniques, there are imperatives (commands) baked in to other sentences, such as "and you started to LISTEN CAREFULLY" or "how suprised will you be to find that you can FEEL YOURSELF INCREADABLY turned on". This doesn't translate, because imperative works differently in some of the other languages I want to work with (that is German, Swedish - French works ok).

Is there any solution you have worked out? I tried to list the verbs in Swedish which are the same in infinitive and second person present as in imperative, and they aren't that many.. In German, its hopeless!

Thanks for any help
Fredrik

well, I think german can make it work. the thing is to get the spirit or meaning of the sentences. for example, turn on is something like "start" in the sense that a machine can be turned on or started. but in the PUA sense turned on means aroused, sexually interested, etc.

I am sorry I don't know enough grammar to help you out, but I know that you shouldn't try to get literal translations but rather get the overall meaning of it.

regards.
