|
|
Hey. I'm thinking about sending this girl a poem that I go to college with. I'm not going to see her for about a month. Basically I asked her out and she said no because of her boyfriend, but anyway she e-mailed me and asked me how my summer's going and I was going to reply with a real real light poem. Let me know if you think it's a good idea.
I wouldn't take the e-mail she wrote me as an IOI because I e-mailed her first, which is why I'm a little skeptical. Just let me know any opinions you have on poetry. Thanks! |

Don't be so try-hard.
I suggest you to first read some books and then go out in the field.
'The Game - Neil Strauss'
'Mystery Method - The Venusian Arts Handbook'
'Double your Dating by DeAngelo' |

| Is it really try hard when she likes poetry though? Someone suggested that I write one that would be light and funny. I see what your saying though. Does everyone feel the same way? |

| I love writing poetry but I wouldn't give a girl poetry until I was already in the comfort building stage or seduction stage (Normally I give it to them in the break up stage). Otherwise it can come across as cheesy or too desperate. |

| So you mean that if you write poetry in the approaching and opening stage you'll come across as cheesy or too desperate. This is just kind of a weird situation because I asked this girl out and she said no, but she doesn't seem to be rejecting me. I think she's just being patient since we're not going to see each other until school starts. I'm really not sure which is why I'm asking all of you. Thanks! |

Agreed. Just no.
Your poem will say "here is permission to walk all over me". |

i think it could work, but only if its funny and not serious at all. if you just loaded it up with a bunch of super corny phrases and ridiculously stretched rhymes she might just think its funny. and nothing works to attract better than humor. i've personally hooked a few girls on some improved limericks, it works if you do it right.
also, it kinda needs to fit your personality. if you're not the creative witty type, then maybe not such a good idea. if its not something you might occasionally do then any girl would be able to detect that you're not being yourself and that's a red flag right there. |

This is what I was thinking about writing:
Amanda
I’m enjoying this summer’s propaganda
I’m just glad you’re my friend
And not my foe
I can’t wait for school to begin
Just so I can hear you laugh
