I'll keep this short and sweet, mainly due to it being a good few days ago and details are a little lost on me at the moment.
Met Mowax at Doctors in Edinburgh, and after the initial pleasantries got straight to business. Off to The Tron. It was pretty busy and a lot of sets to open. There was (as usual on student nights) a really good atmosphere. Anyway to get in the mood, we went near the bar area and qued for drinks. In bursts pub Golf team, led by 'Carol' HB 6. I thought a warm up is a warm up, so opened with hi Carol (I over heared her name) Big smile, to which I got 'Hi' and smile likewise. I turned my back as I knew I had her, then I got
Carol: *In American accent* Hey I love your glasses, a bit gay but nice all the same.
Jack: *slightly tacken aback* They aren't the manliest thing you've seen but I bet I am *gesturing to my entire body*
Carol: Yeah maybe.
Bit of chat and kino then I cut thread.
Anyway the main point of me posting this, Mowax and I were gaming a 6 set of HOT Spainish women and I was with a HB 8 and just as the bitch shield was coming down, this guys comes up to me and
Guy: 'I'm a professional boxer.'
Jack: ' That's great mate, we'll chat about that later.'
Guy : 'You don't believe me!'
Jack: 'Well I'm not really into boxing but I'll take your word for it.'
Now I hope you all see what is happening here, as this guy (who is not with the girls) is taking my attention the 6 set has now lost a lot of interest as they think I'm with this, well thugish guy. ARGH!
All in all a fun night, a lot of opening and we got a couple of soft # closes but that event annoyed me as neither of us (Guy or Jack) got anything out of it. Any ideas as to what I should have done?

I would have asked the girls something like "Is he a friend of yours?" With a funny attitude of course  Then depending on their answer continue the conversation, do an instant date or just ignore the boxerdude. |

| Not to sound like an arse but I don't think that would work. He was pretty full on, and gave off the aggressive vibe. The instant date would be a good idea once in comfort phase, I will remember that. |

| Remember that an alpha male must be able to become a threat too. So by asking the girls that "Is he your friend?" would not block the boxer off and you would hold the HB's interest still. Now when the boxerguy is temporarily inside your chitchat (assuming that hes very drunk) you can easily lead it into an instant date as soon as the HB's start ignoring him (Just whisper something like "It's getting crowded" and lead them by hand). |
