I have been thinking a lot lately about the role pick up plays in my life and questioning how beneficial developing these skill sets actually are. I know gurus get to the point where they suggest that pick up should be a glorified hobby, and others just want to evolve and cash in on the lucrative market that is products and boot camps. I can’t deny that studying this makes you better in general social interactions, but as far as getting “quality” women into your life this stuff seems to be lacking.
Once you have gotten to the level where you are confident that you could go out at anytime and game a beautiful girl, the enjoyment dies. Why? Because most methods are designed to attract beautiful women, which is not the same as quality women. In my experience, most beautiful women have gotten by on their looks and never been challenged to develop themselves much more past the external qualities. This is why negs work so well. However, after realizing that most beautiful women are generally boring, two dimensional at best, and live insecure an existence completely dependent on constant validation (thanks AFC dicks), you wonder what real value you are gaining for your time and effort. Sure, fucking loads of hot women is good for your ego, but after awhile that gets old and isn’t enough anymore. You essentially stay in the game for the chase rather than the end result, which distracts you from developing other aspects of yourself.
For those of you who just want to get laid and grow your confidence, that’s awesome. Keep learning and growing because that’s a great feeling. Conversely, the goal is to eventually develop a high quality lifestyle that is free of routines and the pick up persona. This is the point when your lifestyle is congruent with who you actually are, and if that lifestyle is going to grow it requires having people who give you more value then those that are just enjoyable to fuck.
I think it’s really cool these types of forums exist and complete strangers can help each other get this part of their life in order. However, I would really consider developing specific set standards for the women you accept in your life, as what they bring to the table will eventually be part of your life. Nobody needs any poison in their lives, even if she is an HB10 or whatever the fuck you refer to hot women as. “You are the prize.” This is not a mindset to overcome approach anxiety, this is the truth. Hot women need your validation to go on, and in order for them to get that from you make them prove to you that they will offer you more than a good time in the bedroom. Otherwise, you are just denying that strong lifestyle you deserve. |

| The thing is, everyone will have a different definition of what "quality" in a girl means. Plus, it's not like if we date a shallow HB, we're stuck with her. We have the option of dating whoever we want, and I don't see how you expect that to be taught to us. PUA is about how, while me, you and everyone else here decide who. |

I agree Mike, the definition of a "quality woman" is very different for everyone. I guess I was saying that the common guy who was unsuccessful with women before getting this material tends to settle on early success and revert back to patterns of oneitis.
Many new guys often see this stuff as a quick solution to all past frustrations, but as many of you who have been doing this for awhile know that this is a process. I just wanted to remind myself and others that this game is about building a lifestyle and having choice not just getting laid when you deliver solid game. |
